The BlackBerry Radar team are hiring

The BlackBerry IoT Business Unit combines BlackBerry’s core IoT assets across the company. One of groups within the IoT Business Unit is BlackBerry Radar, which is an innovative service for managing and optimizing fleet operations for businesses in the transportation sector. Solving our customers most common transportation and logistics challenges, BlackBerry® Radar can be used for tracking trailers, intermodal containers & chassis, equipment, railcars and more.
All BlackBerry Radar tracking data is secured with BlackBerry encryption and authentication services; the devices are powered by BlackBerry® QNX®, our OS for embedded systems. BlackBerry Radar devices are rugged and low maintenance, equipped with batteries that can last as much as five years.

The BlackBerry Radar Cloud Services Development team is focused on developing asset tracking software services that will be used by businesses that rent or own railcar, chassis, trailers, and/or cargo carrying containers. The service allows customers to manage their Radar equipped fleet by providing location tracking, a host of rich sensor readings, alerts on meaningful events, analytics on their behavioral data, integration into other back-office systems such as transportation management systems, and much more.
Are you the person we are looking for?

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Developer to join our BlackBerry Radar Cloud Services (AWS) team. In this role, you will help develop technology to help the transportation industry move into the Internet age by connecting their assets to the Cloud. You will:
Design and develop end-to-end, scalable web applications hosted on AWS services, using modern technologies and tools including Node.js, TypeScript, React, Serverless, NATS, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and Redis, implementing both user interfaces and backend database schemas while leveraging the latest JavaScript features
Write unit and integration tests to continually improve quality and ensure our ability to introduce features at a rapid pace
Lead technological initiatives and complex tasks while instilling development best practices
Own your code quality by writing tests, automations, and monitoring dashboards
Planning work using agile methodologies with Jira

You will have:
Proven experience building web applications, employing various testing-oriented and quality coding methodologies, with a focus on microservices architecture hosted on AWS, including knowledge of REST APIs and pub/sub messaging systems like NATS
Required experience in software development using JavaScript, React, and Node/Express (experience with additional frameworks and languages is a plus)
Hands-on experience with modern database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL such as MySQL, Elasticsearch and Redis along with proficiency in modelling data
Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools, including Mocha, Chai, and React Testing Library, with a strong understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing best practices
Experience using CI-CD/microservices architecture/containers (Docker/Swarm, Kubernetes)
Experience in designing complex system architectures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High degree of motivation, sense of urgency, and ability to learn quickly deliver both independently and in a team environment
