Services provided include Portering, Linen, Clinical and Core Housekeeping and Room Booking.Position SummaryAs a member of the health care team, this role provides environmental support throughout the hospital.Schedule Work Hoursdays, evenings, weekends, and holidaysQualificationsMinimum Grade 12 educationPrevious experience in a hospital or health care setting preferredDemonstrates ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructionsAbility to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, both verbal and writtenAbility to use commercial cleaning equipment and to work with cleaning agentsAbility to work on an active nursing floor, dealing with isolation proceduresGood physical condition. Ability to stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, bending, climbing step ladder, pushing and lifting using good body mechanicsAbility to demonstrate attributes that contributes to a respectful caring environmentAbility to set priorities and organize work in response to department needsAbility to train for laundry and janitorial pooling as requiredHamilton Health Sciences fosters a culture of patient and staff safety, whereby all employees are guided by our Mission, Vision, Values, and Values Based Code of Conduct.
