Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places sector is seeking a Structural Engineering Technologist for immediate employment for the Ottawa, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work.AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.Major ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:Conduct structural drafting / 3D BIM for concrete, steel, and wood buildingsPrepares finished design drawings from sketches, notes, and detailsSupport structural analysis of buildings and structures with little guidanceSupporting the preparation of the specifications and maintaining project documentation including quality review documentation.Supporting packages preparation and submissionMonitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements.General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.Works in engineering project collaboration software platforms (i.e., ProjectWise, BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud)Self-checks drawings for quality assuranceSupport with field inspection and construction administrationWorks in team-based environment that involves coordination with colleagues in different disciplines based in different officesPerforms the responsibilities under limited supervisionWork both in office and field settingsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:College diploma in Engineering Technology + 4 (two) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProficient in 3D Revit/BIM draftingDemonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.Holding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearancePreferred QualificationsEIT, C. Tech or CET designation, or working towards certificationAble to develop and advance drawings from conceptual to detailed design stageGood written and oral communication skillsFamiliar with software such as: AutoCAD 2015 or later, Autodesk Revit Family/BIM Software and MicroStation V.8 or laterFamiliar with Ontario building codeAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
