Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircraft, NAT provides first-class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

The Senior Technical Engineer is the technical expert and will have mastery of multiple-discipline/multiple-skillset engineering design and substantiation, and will have an understanding of FAA and EASA certification and industry processes.

Scope of Work

The Senior Technical Engineer has the following scope of work:

  1. Acts as a leader and a technical resource/consultant for the Engineering group.
  2. Responsible for producing engineering and also for mentoring others in the Engineering group and helping them to produce engineering.
  3. The Senior Technical Engineer will ensure the quality of drawings and documents produced in Engineering.
  4. Assist the Project Engineer by helping define the structure and organization of a project.
  5. The Senior Technical Engineer will have drawing and document approval authority.
  6. Responsible for resolving technical issues and for making final technical decisions.
  7. Coordination with Operations, Suppliers, and the Customer will be required.
  8. Contribute to the preparation of NAT proposals, including development of the statement of work, non-recurring engineering estimates, and the parts kit list.
Working Conditions

Primarily office work with some travel required. Consistent use of computer keyboard and monitor. Fluent communication in English is required. Protracted or irregular hours may be required. Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines, thus completing work on time.

The Senior Technical Engineer should possess the following:

  1. A four-year technical degree and at least ten (10) years relevant industry experience is recommended.
  2. In lieu of a four-year technical degree, a combination of other relevant formal technical training and at least ten (10) years of relevant industry experience is required.
  3. Ten (10) or more years of aerospace engineering experience, with at least five (5) years on programs requiring FAA or EASA certification.
  4. The ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required to support customer meetings and design reviews.
  5. Three (3) or more years' experience in leading technical personnel.
  6. Experienced in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
