The West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) provides services and programming to women and gender-diverse people and their families in the West Central neighbourhood of Winnipeg. WCWRC is women-centered and practices empowerment, inclusion, harm reduction, multi-level, and community economic development philosophies to support women and gender-diverse people experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental illness, violence, substance use or participating in sex-trade work.

We are committed to removing barriers to employment that are faced by groups that have been historically, persistently and systemically marginalized and encourage (but do not require) members of these groups to self-identify as such in their cover letters.Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director is a senior leadership position and works collaboratively with all members of the leadership team. This position oversees program development and human resource management, and supports fund development, community relations, and media relations in collaboration with the Executive Director.Human Resource Management Ensure that all departments have work plans in place that reflect program targets of existing funding agreements and meet the current needs of the community Coordinate the review and revision of policy manuals, in collaboration with the Operations team

Program Management Responsibilities

Monitor program and project agreements ensuring the Centre adheres to all reporting guidelines and deadlines Continuously respond to the needs and trends of the organization, community, and gender equity movement Guide the development and maintenance of Centre policies and procedures and ensure they are in accordance with Manitoba Employment Standards and Workplace Health and Safety standards Actively participate in management meetings Support with long-term planning, problem-solving, and broad Centre initiatives Provide on-site supervision and on-call support in rotation with other Directors, including evenings and weekends Support the Executive Director with risk management, as required Community Partnerships Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Elders and Knowledge Keepers, other community leaders, partner organizations/groups and all three levels of government Attend community events and meetings and sit on community committees Provides agency tours and presentations to stakeholders, funders, and the community as requested Develop grant proposals and reports in collaboration with Executive Director keeping with WCWRC proposal/reporting guidelines Develop and maintain annual program budgets in collaboration with Executive Director and Director of Finance and Operations Post-secondary degree in social services, community development, or other relevant degree (other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered).Ability to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks Demonstrated success in Human Resources, Program Management, Financial Management, and Community Development Experience in overall leadership and implementation of programs and projects.Experience and success coordinating and leading program level initiatives, human resource management, proposal/grant development and reporting, networking and partnership development and other related projects that support overall program functions.Knowledge of the resources available in the community for participants experiencing poverty, homelessness, gender-based violence, mental illness, and problematic substance use Experience working in cross-functional teams and implementation of new initiatives.Experience working in a community-based setting in Winnipeg and knowledge of inner-city challenges is an asset.Training and experience in project and change management is an asset.Strong administrative skills, including a strong attention to detail By mail: West Central Women’s Resource Centre
