OverviewAnalyst – Senior Safety Engineering at AtkinsRéalis is a position in one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. The department of Deterministic Safety Analysis (DSA) and probabilistic safety analysis (PSA) supports existing and new CANDU Nuclear Power Plants domestically and internationally. Location: 2251 Speakman Drive, Mississauga, ON. Term: Permanent position. Weekly hours: 37.5. Language: English. Wage: CAD 150,000.00 annual. Vacation: 4 weeks. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.Job Title: Senior Safety Engineering AnalystYour Role Within The TeamPlan, co-ordinate, and supervise an engineering section involved in a technical issue or several smaller engineering assignments with complex features requiring application of intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in related fields. Review technical documents prepared by employees supervised. Prepare inputs into and monitor budgets, estimates, schedules, and work packages. Co-ordinate with other groups as required to establish interfaces.Use advanced techniques and/or modify theories, precepts, guides and practices in the field.Modify established guides, devise new approaches and form conclusions from comparable situations.Represent the section in meetings dealing with problem resolution and the planning and co-ordination of work. May be delegated to represent the branch or department on occasion.Review recommendations for soundness of judgement; modifications to standard designs and decisions are subject to management review.Supervise, co-ordinates and review the work of engineers and support employees; estimate and monitor schedules and assign work to meet deadlines.Provide input or make recommendations to management regarding performance appraisal of supervised employees and related human resources decisions.Ideal Candidate / QualificationsA relevant Engineering or science degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.Proficiency in Linux and WINDOWS environments is an asset.Broad knowledge of thermal-fluid sciences (fluid flow, heat transfer, multi-phase flow, thermodynamics).Familiarity with safety and licensing codes such as CATHENA, NUCIRC, GOTHIC, and MAAP.Proficiency in programming, especially FORTRAN, is desirable.Good knowledge of the CANDU design, particularly the heat transport system (HTS), plant control, containment and moderator systems.Experience in licensing activities is an asset.Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and workshops.Why AtkinsRéalisThe opportunity to work on major projects for internal and external clients.An environment that values work-life balance.Learning and development opportunities.Competitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.A health-and-safety-focused work environment.BenefitsVision CareDental CareLife InsuranceExtended Health CareContact Information: +1 437-422-2560.
