YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, you will be part of the Community Relations Department. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and guide the implementation of cultural, recruitment, and engagement initiatives at Detour Lake, with a focus on strengthening relationships with Partner Indigenous Nations and supporting departmental objectives aligned with Agnico Eagle’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). You will supervise the delivery of Indigenous awareness and inclusion activities, coordinate cultural events and initiatives on site, and provide strategic support to community relations and consultation efforts. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Lead and supervise the implementation of Indigenous awareness training, cultural programming, and capacity‑building initiatives across site operations. Coordinate and oversee cultural events and activities at Detour Lake, ensuring alignment with Indigenous traditions and community expectations. Strengthen engagement with Partner Indigenous Nations through regular communication, relationship‑building, and collaborative planning. Support departmental objectives by contributing to strategic planning, reporting, and evaluation of Indigenous workforce and community relations initiatives. Monitor and report on progress toward RAP commitments and other Indigenous engagement goals, ensuring transparency and accountability. Advocate for equity and inclusion, promoting culturally appropriate practices in recruitment, retention, and employee wellness. Provide guidance and oversight to employment and training coordinators, ensuring consistent and effective support for Indigenous talent. Support Indigenous employees through wellness monitoring, career development, and liaison with community representatives. Collaborate with HR and site leadership to ensure Indigenous workforce strategies are integrated into broader operational planning. Facilitate communication of employee progression, promotions, and career changes to Partner Nations and designated coordinators. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field, or a minimum of five years overseeing Indigenous workforce development, recruitment strategies, and community engagement within the mining or industrial sector. Proven ability to lead and guide culturally sensitive initiatives, with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols, traditions, and practices. Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous worldviews and methodologies, with a commitment to respectful and inclusive workplace practices. Strong strategic communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, prepare reports, and represent the department in internal and external forums. Advanced interpersonal and organizational skills, with experience in team leadership, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving in complex environments. Experience managing training budgets, funding proposals, and program evaluation. Valid driver’s license. Comfortable working in industrial environments and adhering to site safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in French, Cree, Algonquin or Anishinaabe is considered an asset. Lived experience and/or demonstrated understanding of Indigenous communities in Northern Ontario. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Your Work Schedule Schedule: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
