Senior Civil Engineer

Your role within the team:
Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs.Prepare technical specification documents.Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.Review and comment on the work performed by the others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with Company QA programs and manuals.Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.Prepare Engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals.Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications./>The opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.Competitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.
  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University with minimum 12 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings. Master degree and above is an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset.
  • Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. li>
  • Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design-office and site experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering.
  • Thorough knowledge of use of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
  • Must have experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
  • Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.
  • Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset.
  • Travel to client site is required.
