Position Overview: Within this exciting context, the College of Medicine and Saskatchewan Health Authority invite nominations and applications for the position of Provincial Department Head, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Reporting jointly to the Dean of the College of Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Saskatchewan Health Authority, and working in close collaboration with clinical and academic leaders, the Provincial Department Head will lead the department in its mandate to deliver excellence in patient care, innovative laboratory and diagnostic services, cutting-edge research, and high-quality, comprehensive medical education. Key responsibilities include leading groundbreaking clinical, academic, and research initiatives that shape the future of the fields within the Department; The ideal candidate will possess a track record of leadership and mentorship, especially as it relates to research, extensive clinical experience, and the ability to lead towards the identification and attainment of strategic goals in both the clinical and academic settings. Of importance in the next Provincial Department Head is a record of proactively addressing inequities and advancing Indigenization, equity, diversity, and inclusion across the department’s activities, programs, and practices, and a demeanour that exhibits integrity, collegiality, sound judgement, fairness, and enthusiasm.
Application Process: The new Provincial Department Head will ideally take office in the Fall of 2025 or as mutually agreed, with consideration of candidates beginning immediately.
