The Department of Public Safety and Justice Studies in the Faculty of Health and Community Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Emergency Communications at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2025, subject to final budgetary approval.

You will play a vital role in enhancing the department’s focus on Emergency Communications and Response, Community Justice and Corrections, Police Studies, and Investigative Studies. These programs focus on equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to build safe, secure, and just communities.

In this position, your focus will be on teaching, primarily within the Emergency Communications and Response program. You will have evidence of effective teaching, the ability to support students in achieving success, and the ability to provide leadership in implementing initiatives. You should have an in-depth background and professional experience in the theoretical and practical applications of emergency communication techniques and the Canadian public safety sector, including:

Deployment management strategies;Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems;

You may also be expected to facilitate and supervise students in field placements across a variety of agencies.
