Job Description The Senior Electrical Instrumentation and Control Engineer – Markham, Ontario – is accountable for ensuring all related engineering activities comply with approved policies, standards, programs and procedures consistent with the expectations of the Chief Nuclear Engineer and the ACNS Nuclear Quality System Manual. The role supports the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager by providing engineering products, including designs, analyses, and other technical products. The position is responsible for training, competency, mentoring, investigation, resolution of technical issues, and preparation, review, verification, or certification of engineering products such as commissioning specifications, technical specifications, design drawings, bills of material, and design reports with calculations and analysis. Ensure training, competency and qualification of staff Provide mentoring and technical direction to engineering staff as identified by the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager Investigate and resolve technical issues during all phases of a project Prepare, review, verify, or certify engineering products including commissioning specifications, technical specifications, design drawings, bills of material, and design reports with calculations and analysis Maintain expertise in codes, standards and acts such as Electrical Codes in Canada/Ontario or any other province in which design is performed. Responsibilities Support engineering design and analysis for power plant instrumentation and control systems. Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of material for control equipment and electrical distribution. Lead technical investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of engineering issues during design, procurement, and commissioning stages. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and ACNS quality standards. Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineering staff. Qualifications Minimum Requirements A 4‑year degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered and practicing Professional Engineer. 6+ years of work experience designing electrical systems for power plants as a consultant or utility. Preferred Qualifications 7‑15 years of experience in a design engineering environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence at all management levels. Good technical understanding of nuclear power plant operation. Good understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment and requirements pertaining to power plant operation. In‑depth understanding of the practical application of engineering principles in the discipline. Additional Information Compensation range: CAD 140,000 – CAD 190,000 per year.
