Position Overview The David A. Dunlap Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto is inviting applications for a full‑time tenure stream position in Extragalactic Astronomy. The position is at the rank of Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Application deadline: November 26, 2025 11:59 PM ET. Responsibilities Supervise graduate and undergraduate students. Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Lead an innovative, independent research program. Maintain an externally funded research portfolio. Engage in university service activities. Qualifications Applicants must have earned a PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a related area, and should have a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Candidates should have an established international reputation and be able to sustain and lead independent research, secure competitive external funding, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive learning environment. A strong record of teaching effectiveness and equity, diversity and inclusion is essential. Application Components Curriculum vitae, including a full list of publications. Research statement outlining current and future research interests. A recent publication. Teaching dossier that includes a teaching statement, sample course materials, and evidence of teaching performance. Names and contact information of three references.
