Senior Civil Engineer – Civil Transit Design LeadJoin our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond.We’re looking for a Senior Civil Engineer – Civil Transit Design Lead to join our growing Canadian Operations. To be successful, you must have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in civil engineering, design and design coordination on large scale transit infrastructure projects including civil works pertaining to Rail Corridors, Roadways, and Multi-Modal Corridors (LRT/BRT), and Site Development/Linear Infrastructure.The role can be based in any of our offices in Mississauga, Toronto, or Markham. Be part of the dynamic culture Our workplace thrives on a hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility.ResponsibilitiesNeeds Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues.Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing business practices, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization's change management program.Culture of Innovation: Drive a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units.Engineering Solutions Design: Leading and developing civil engineering design for track grading, roadway, and multi-modal corridors including median LRT/BRT as well as site development and associated linear infrastructure.Coordination: Coordinating the preparation of civil deliverables, drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment.Professional Supervision: Being able to lead a small team of engineers and/or designers to drive design phases and implement design standards on civil infrastructure projects of high complexity.Engineering Standards Specification: Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of models and drawings and working together with other Engineers and Designers to develop detailed drawings, quantities and various supporting documents.Collaboration: Working closely with Business Group Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Directors with a focus on civil design for transit infrastructure.Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues.Document and Reports Review: Overseeing the preparation of reports, and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public.Education and ExperiencePost-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.Ontario P.Eng designation required (or eligible).15+ years’ experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects.Proven record of successful delivery of Transit Infrastructure projects.Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and standards.GHD is an equal opportunity employer.
