Enjoy a busy and challenging practice working alongside an excellent team of caring professionals. Clinical Setting Kelowna serves as a referral centre for the Central Okanagan. Our state‑of‑the‑art NICU houses 12 beds and supports babies born after 30 weeks of gestation. We have a 10‑bed pediatric unit with an adjacent pediatric urgent care clinic. We also have outpatient clinic space, which is used for outreach clinics from various sub‑specialist groups from BC Children’s Hospital. In association with UBC’s Southern Medical Program, you’ll have opportunities to teach medical students, family practice and senior pediatric residents. Academic work takes place in both the Clinical Teaching Unit and Neo‑natal Intensive Care Unit, averaging one week per month. Hospital Overview Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health and the region’s main referral centre, offering a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 ED visits yearly. KGH is a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program affiliated with UBC and serves as a satellite for the University of British Columbia Medical School. It houses the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre, BC’s only cardiac critical care centre outside Victoria and the Lower Mainland, and features 12 specialized ORs, including 2 dedicated to cardiac surgery. Compensation Compensation Type: Alternative Payment ArrangementEstimated Remuneration: As a general pediatrician in Kelowna, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize your earnings through the provincial APP clinical service contract, which offers an hourly rate of $229.21, plus after‑hours premiums and MOCAP Level 1. Benefits and Incentives Up to $9,000 in assistance if moving within BC, up to $12,000 within Canada, and up to $15,000 from outside Canada. Please note incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
