The role includes developing effective alliances with callers, collecting information, triaging and evaluating risk, and crisis intervention where indicated. The clinician works collaboratively with primary health care providers, individuals, families/natural supports, and services/agencies to determine the best service suited to meet the individual’s needs. The clinician is responsible for liaising with provincial mental health and addictions services for individuals across the lifespan, the stabilization facility designated under the Youth Drug Stabilization Act, and Compass, the in-house program for youth addressing substance use.Experience4-5 years’ experience working with individuals in mental health and addictions required.Experience in the intake process will be considered an asset.EducationMaster’s degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution required.Certification/Licensure/RegistrationActive member in good standing of an applicable associated regulatory body.Qualifications And SkillsDemonstrated skill in assessment and triage, as well as the ability to provide service consultation to a variety of referral sources.Current and comprehensive knowledge of regional health authorities’ (inclusive of Shared Health’s) Mental Health and Addictions program services, as well as community services and resources.Ability to use ambulatory module of Altera Sunrise.An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations is essential.Physical RequirementsAbility to work flexible hours.We have a unique ability to work together to make health care better.
