We’re looking for a Industrial Energy Engineer, to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in industrial process and in the operation, maintenance, and management of electrical and lighting systems or mechanical systems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer, Registered Engineering Technologist, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or other relevant technical education.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in writing detailed reports.
  • Capable of performing financial analysis.
  • Experience with using common computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Project management experience for small capital projects.

Focus on safety by recognizing and eliminating all safety hazards and operating in a manner in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies.Coordinate a Sustainable Energy Management Program (SEMP) workshop and quarterly reporting of the program.Maintain a database and an energy tracking and monitoring system for each facility/process.Review existing energy study reports and perform high-level assessments to identify energy-saving opportunities.Work closely with Business Unit Managers, Maintenance Superintendents, and divisional staff to identify, assess, prioritize, recommend and implement energy savings opportunities at business units.Coordinate the sharing of best practices regarding energy efficiency across Tolko business units.Develop a strategy for the Measurement & Verification of energy-saving projects at a corporate level.Foster a sustainable energy management culture at Tolko facilities.Coordinate and assist with site inspections by BC Hydro.You may also be eligible for relocation support including community connections so you can live (and play) where you work.You’ll be supported in continued development through on-the-job and classroom training and reimbursement of tuition and membership fees.
