We are looking to hire a Canteen Cookto join our friendly and growing team in Bodmin, Cornwall. This opportunity has arisen due to our recent success in securing a major contract, leading to extended working hours in our Production facility. We are seeking an individual to work the early morning shift,00:00 - 08:00 Monday to Friday, starting Midnight on Monday morning and finishing 08:00 Friday morning. Thisshift should cater to between 70 – 100 colleagues and we provide a competitive base hourly starting rate of £12.70, with an enhanced rate of £15.88 for hours worked between 8 pm and 6 am, as well as for any hours worked over 37.5 per week. So the approximate gross earnings for this shift is £570 per week.

Main Duties:

As a Canteen Cook, you will contribute to the success of our canteen by:

  • Planning and executing delicious menus, including catering for dietary requirements.
  • Serving high-quality food to our colleagues
  • Gathering and relaying customer feedback to the Catering Manager
  • Ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations
  • Maintaining impeccable hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Monitoring and replenishing stock levels
  • Interacting with customers, providing exceptional service
  • Collaborating with the Catering Manager in overall canteen management
  • Upholding a high level of professional integrity
  • Operating in accordance with the Company’s Dignity and Diversity policy

Key Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in Food preparation
  • Experience in the Kitchen/Canteen/Catering arena
  • Proficiency in baking and cooking fresh, healthy, quality food
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Numeracy and IT skillsfor payment processing
