Responsibilities:

  1. Review bid packages and contracts.
  2. Conduct take-offs.
  3. Prepare, coordinate and track RFI's, submittals, change orders and material orders.
  4. Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
  5. Conduct site inspections.
  6. Participate in quality control inspections and improvements.
  7. Collaborate with management to negotiate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  8. Keep complete and accurate records, including budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
  9. Expected to represent the company in a professional and respectable manner by properly coordinating and communicating between the field, management, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors.

Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The position may focus more on project estimator or manager at different times. As the company grows, this position may evolve to strictly project management or estimating.

  • 8am-5pm
  • Monday to Friday

Requirements:

  1. Have appropriate knowledge of precise measuring and arithmetic.
  2. Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  5. Proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
  6. Must have a minimum of (3) years commercial estimating experience with various sized projects.
  7. Experience with Glazier Studio, Bluebeam.
  8. Able to analyze architectural details and shop drawings.
  9. Must be able to make material takeoffs, obtain quotes from suppliers, review and confirm accuracy of orders.
  10. Experience with overseeing glass and glazing projects that include curtainwall, storefront, entrances, canopies, handrail, skylights, and interior glazing.
  11. Experience in architectural panel.
  12. Proficient at understanding and translating construction plans, drawings and specifications and generating accurate take-offs and estimates.
  13. Ability to manage project and field installation, procurement, RFI’s, project managing documentation including close-outs and punch out; compile estimates for value engineering; negotiate pricing with vendor/subcontractors.
  14. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be a motivated team player.
  15. Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software such as Glaziers Studio. Knowledge with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.
  16. Willing to relocate.
  17. Driving record check (abstract).
  18. Own transportation.
  19. Willing to travel.
