Job Overview Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional to join our team in the role of Project & Controls Report Developer. Reporting to the Manager, Project Controls, this role will be accountable for overseeing the governance, training, continuous improvement, and strategic planning initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and fostering efficiency and effectiveness within regulatory compliance and strategic planning, ensuring adherence to industry and company standards. Key Accountabilities Implement comprehensive strategies, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. Provide guidance and support to project managers and department heads in implementing industry best practices, while maintaining a focus on cost‑effectiveness and timely completion. Offer expert advice on project management methodologies, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures within OPG’s various Business Units. Facilitate project management and project controls training within OPG’s PM Training programs. Conduct in‑depth self‑assessments and prepare comprehensive reports to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex challenges, fostering a cohesive and productive work environment. Cultivate effective communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. Ensure strict adherence to project management standards and regulations, prioritizing safety, environmental sustainability, and performance excellence. Qualifications 4‑year university degree in Business, Finance or Engineering, or equivalent education. Minimum 6 years of experience in project planning, execution, and management, with a strong focus on governance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. CAPM or PMP certification an asset. Proven experience working within cross‑functional teams within the engineering or power generation sector. Demonstrated expertise in implementing and adhering to industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams toward achieving common goals. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results within stipulated timelines. Supplementary Technical Skills Power BI Development Design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards and reports. Build data models, often using a star schema design. Publish and maintain reports within the Power BI Service. Troubleshoot DAX‑related issues as they arise. Automate dataflows using the Power BI Service and T‑SQL. T‑SQL Develop advanced queries to support data analysis and ongoing project reporting. Troubleshoot ETL processes and data queries for various SSRS and Power BI reports. ETL Development Cleansing, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources. Contribute to data modeling and work with Power Query (M language). Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines.
