Esri Canada has an exceptional professional opportunity for a Senior GIS Consultant based in western Canada. As a Senior GIS Consultant, you will leverage your experience in GIS, business analysis, and consulting to implement cutting-edge solutions based on Esri technology. Reporting to the Prairies Professional Services Manager, you will contribute to the ongoing business operations by providing effective delivery of assigned consulting projects and other client services.

Senior GIS Consultant responsibilities include:

  • Work in a collaborative team environment to analyze customer needs and develop solutions
  • Provide expertise with requirements gathering, estimation, design, development, and implementation of Enterprise GIS solutions
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
  • Prototype new procedures for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow
  • Actively participate (and/or lead) in the preparation of proposals (e.g., RFPs, RFIs and RFQs)
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in production systems across an organization.
  • Develop effort estimations and assist the Project Manager in project schedules
  • Act as a technical mentor and advisor to other resources

Specific skill requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of GIS, geomatics, geography, computer science, business administration, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of consulting experience in providing GIS solutions
  • 7+ years' experience with Esri's ArcGIS product suite, specifically ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Desktop/ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Experience in building sophisticated solutions using state-of-the art enterprise GIS technology
  • Proven experience with producing business and technical documents such as requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, data models, proposals, business models, executive dashboards, gap analysis etc.
  • Demonstrated business acumen in establishing and maintaining effective consulting relationships with corporate customers
  • Experience in facilitating discussions and leading workshops
  • Knowledge in user needs analysis/requirements gathering, and designing techniques used to solve business problems.
  • Ability to motivate, coordinate, and lead a group of multidisciplinary teams effectively
  • Ability to negotiate and build consensus among stakeholders regarding technical matters
  • Ability to act as technical expert in pre-sales presentations, building and demonstration of solutions using Esri technology

Competencies in the following are essential:

  • Ability to understand and analyze customer needs, synthesize approaches and solutions, develop and present new ideas, and build solutions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage own time and deliver project artifacts as per schedule.
  • Experience working on multiple projects at the same time

Skills considered as assets:

  • Understanding of relational database theory and data modeling
  • Understanding of complex geospatial systems

  • Travailler dans un environnement d'équipe pour analyser les besoins des clients et élaborer des solutions.
  • Fournir une expertise en matière de détermination des besoins, d'évaluation, de conception, de développement et de mise en œuvre de solutions de SIG d'entreprise.
  • Étudier, observer et analyser l'efficacité et l'efficience des processus existants et élaborer des stratégies pour les améliorer davantage ou mieux en tirer parti.
  • Créer un prototype des nouvelles procédures dans le but d'améliorer les processus d'affaires, les activités et le traitement des informations.
  • Participer activement à la préparation de documents de vente (comme les demandes de propositions, les demandes d'information et les demandes de prix) ou la diriger.
  • Préparer et présenter des rapports, des recommandations et des solutions de rechange visant à améliorer les processus liés aux systèmes de production d'une organisation.
  • Élaborer des estimations de l'effort à fournir et aider la ou le gestionnaire de projets à établir les calendriers de projets.
  • Agir en tant que mentore ou mentor technique et conseillère ou conseiller auprès des autres ressources.

Formation, expérience et aptitudes nécessaires

  • Diplôme universitaire ou collégial dans le domaine des SIG, de la géomatique, de la géographie, de l'informatique ou de l'administration, ou expérience équivalente.
  • Au moins dix ans d'expérience de conseillère ou conseiller en solutions SIG.
  • Au moins sept ans d'expérience avec la suite de produits ArcGIS d'Esri, notamment ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Desktop/ArcMap ou ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Expérience dans l'élaboration de solutions complexes recourant à une technologie SIG d'entreprise de pointe.
  • Expérience avérée en production de documents commerciaux et techniques, comme l'analyse des besoins, la modélisation et cartographie des processus d'affaires, le développement de méthodologie, les modèles de données, les propositions, les modèles commerciaux, les tableaux de bord, l'analyse des écarts, etc.
  • Sens aigu des affaires dans l'établissement et le maintien de relations de consultation efficaces avec les entreprises clientes.
  • Expérience dans l'animation de discussions et la direction d'ateliers.
  • Connaissance de l'analyse des besoins et de la détermination des exigences des utilisateurs et des techniques de conception utilisées pour résoudre les problèmes commerciaux.
  • Capacité à motiver, coordonner et diriger efficacement un groupe d'équipes pluridisciplinaires.
  • Aptitude à négocier et à parvenir à un consensus entre intervenants en ce qui concerne les questions techniques.
  • Capacité à agir en tant qu'experte ou expert technique dans les présentations de prévente, l'élaboration et la démonstration de solutions utilisant la technologie Esri.
