Project:North MineRotation:5/4 - 4/5 or 7-7Shift Length:10.5Benefits:Redpath offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to health, dental and vision care, life insurance, pension and employee assistance programPre-employment requirement:Drug TestJob Summary:The primary role of the Conventional Miner is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground hand-held Jackleg and Stoper drills and long toms. Inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure safety.ResponsibilitiesIdentify unsafe conditions in underground headings - high level of alertness required.Scale back and walls as required to make the workplace safe.Drill holes using hand-held pneumatic drills or drill-boom mounted on bolter.Install or fix existing mines services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks, chain blocks and hand tools.Operate large mobile equipment such as 8 yard (Scoop tram) and scissor lift (man lift),Receive instructions or directives from Shift Supervisors and Captain to coordinate day to day ground control requirements;Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient mannerThe duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.Health and Safety:Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environmentFollowing Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditionsResponsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.QualificationsWork Experience and Requirements:2 years or more experience as a minerOntario Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner – Common CoreOntario Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Specialty Module U0004,U0005,U0006,U0010,U0011, U0012,U0016,U0024, U0028, U0080, U0082Knowledge Required:Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.Ability to multi task and work effectivelyAbility to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independentlyRespectful of cultural differencesAbout UsRedpath provides full service mining solutions and innovation around the world since 1962.Redpath is committed to an environment that is barrier-free.
