Business Performance & Operations Manager At TidalCo:, we help people work together to create better futures. We’re a growing strategy design consultancy that builds collaborative processes with organizations and communities facing complex challenges. Our projects stretch from quick‑turn engagements to long‑term partnerships with industries, Indigenous Nations, governments, and multi‑stakeholder groups. We’re looking for a Business Performance & Operations Manager to join our expanding team. This role is central to helping us grow with focus and integrity. You’ll work across operations, project set‑up, business development, communications, and executive support – building the systems that keep us steady while opening the doors to new opportunities. This is not just a support role. As TidalCo: scales, you’ll grow with us, taking on more responsibility, shaping how we run as a business, and evolving into a senior leadership position over time. What You’ll Do Keep us steady (Operations & Performance) Track revenue goals, budgets, and expenses. Improve workflows and project management systems so our team can do its best work. Forecast team capacity and resourcing needs. Monitor business performance and keep leadership focused on what matters. Create budgets and proposals. Turn client agreements into clear project charters and resourcing plans. Onboard project teams and collaborators into TidalCo:’s way of working. Ensure projects launch smoothly, with clarity and alignment from day one. Help us grow (Business Development) Identify new leads and make initial outreach. Set up introductory conversations with potential clients and partners. Support proposals, including drafting content, aligning budgets, and preparing submissions. Research industries and organizations to strengthen our pipeline. Support the business and organizational development of our sister company, Mine Strong (about 25% of BD time). Support the delivery of our projects (Project Coordination & Management) Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and contractor inputs. Support consultants in tracking milestones, risks, and client communications. Occasionally contribute directly to deliverables such as slide decks, reports, and presentations. Help plan and facilitate workshops and co‑design sessions, with support and guidance provided. Capture lessons learned and feedback from clients to strengthen future work. Ensure our projects stay aligned with scope, budget, and values. Own TidalCo:’s communications calendar—from LinkedIn posts to articles and proposals. Draft and edit promotional copy that reflects our brand voice: human, clear, and grounded. Share stories, outcomes, and insights from our work (with client permission). Strengthen brand presence through thoughtful, consistent marketing. Provide direct support to the Managing Director, including scheduling, meeting prep, and follow‑up. Coordinate internal priorities and keep commitments on track. Act as a trusted partner—anticipating needs and helping the Director focus on the big picture. Anchor our culture (Team & Integration) Ensure contractors and collaborators show up as part of the TidalCo: team. Support onboarding of new hires. Capture lessons learned and build institutional memory as we grow. Who You Are You thrive at the intersection of structure, relationships, and storytelling. You have experience in operations, project management, or consulting—and you’re not afraid of budgets or spreadsheets. You’re comfortable reaching out to potential clients, starting conversations, and building connections. You’re clear, confident, and human in how you write and speak. You’re motivated by collaboration, long‑term thinking, and work that matters. Location & Travel We have a preference for candidates based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), but we’re open to remote candidates across Canada who can collaborate effectively across time zones. Note: this role involves travel for client meetings, workshops, and team gatherings. Compensation We’re offering a competitive salary in the range of $90,000–$115,000 CAD, recognizing that applicants may bring different levels of experience from consulting or related professional services environments. After 12 months in the role, there is eligibility to join the Tidal profit‑sharing partnership, where bonuses are awarded based on the achievement of company‑wide performance targets. Why Join Us?
