There is potential for this position to become permanent. Field Directors will have opportunities to develop their experience in other culture areas within the province.Responsibilities:Applicants should enjoy adventure, critical thinking and problem solving, working in challenging physical conditions, and working to actively improve the current standards of consulting archaeology in BC.Field workReport writingInteracting with clientsWorking with First NationsSupervising small- and medium-sized crews.Skills:Approved Field Directors with the British Columbia Archaeology Branch.Bachelors or graduate degree in archaeology or anthropologyFamiliarity with BC archaeology and the HCAExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervisionAbility to supervise small- and medium-sized crews.Applicants with the ability to Field Direct and hold permits on the north coast AS WELL AS the central interior will be given preference.Applicants must be physically fit and hold a valid class 5 Driver’s License and Level I First Aid.
