About the Role We are seeking a Warehouse Technician to support our Operations team in Whitehorse, ensuring the efficient handling and management of materials and inventory. You will be responsible for receiving and shipping goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and assisting with the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. What You’ll Do Receive and organize materials, ensuring accurate documentation. Manage shipments to various locations, handling all paperwork and logistics. Sort and prepare salvage materials for disposal or sale; coordinate returns of surplus goods to suppliers. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment, including the yard and associated buildings. Prepare and fulfill orders for work projects, tracking and recording materials accurately. Conduct regular inventory counts to keep stock levels optimized. Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment, performing safety checks. Update inventory records by issuing and returning stock as needed. Provide excellent customer service at the warehouse counter. Prioritize material needs to meet deadlines and maximize productivity. Monitor inventory levels and storage locations, reporting findings and supporting accuracy. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Lead routine warehouse operations—shipping, receiving, picking, sorting, and assessing returns—especially when the Stockkeeper is unavailable. Identify optimal locations for picking and shipping materials to streamline workflow. Handle administrative tasks and ensure accurate data entry in materials management software. Be open to occasional travel and out-of-town assignments for special projects. Take on additional duties as needed to support team success. What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent is required. Eager to learn and willing to pursue warehouse and logistics certifications. Certification in First Aid, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Previous experience in a trade or warehouse environment is beneficial. Comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks. Valid driver’s license. Familiarity with Oracle or similar inventory management systems. Experience with inventory software is an asset.
