About the Role Ktech Industrial Products Inc is seeking a meticulous and experienced Instrument Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Translating client RFQ requirements into detailed instrumentation and control system schematics and documentation Creating and updating product manuals and data sheets Providing quotations for client RFQs Coordinating between sales and the production floor Key Responsibilities Schematic Generation: Create, modify, and manage electrical schematics, and other documentation for new and modified industrial control panels and junction boxes, using AutoCAD software Physical Layout: Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings and external enclosure layouts, ensuring compliance with NEMA/IP ratings and maintainability Component Specification: Select, size, and specify all panel components, including terminal blocks, power supplies, relays, and intrinsic safety barriers, ensuring proper rating and integration BOM Generation: Review Bills of Material (BOM) requirements for purchasing and fabrication to provide client quotations Instrumentation Design & Documentation Engineering Documentation Understanding: Collaborate with clients and review documentation to generate and provide manufacturer drawings for quotations/approval Instrument Specification: Prepare and manage instrument and control panel data sheets and manuals for providing with products Standards, Review, and Collaboration Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, UL, CSA, IEC, ISA) and company engineering specifications Participate in design reviews and vendor discussions to ensure panels meet design and functional requirements Required Qualifications Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French would be beneficial Education: Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering Technology, Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant technical certification Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience as an Instrument Designer, Control System Draftsperson or Instrumentation Engineer Expert Drafting Skills: High proficiency in AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD Electrical for generating I&C deliverables, particularly panel schematics and layouts Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial electrical wiring practices, specifically with relays, switches and timers, and hazardous area classification principles Document Control: Experience managing drawing revisions, maintaining redline documents, and generating documentation and drawings Specific experience designing panels under the UL508A or CSA C22.2 No 14 standards is an asset Qualifications Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Fluency in English is required, French is an asset Proficiency in instrumentation and experience with electrical schematics Experience using AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD Electrical Strong attention to detail and capability to ensure accuracy across all design projects Relevant education in instrumentation, engineering, or a related technical field Previous experience in the industrial, petroleum, or chemical equipment sector is an asset #J-18808-Ljbffr
