You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line, contributing to a wide range of water resources projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesThis role involves working within multidisciplinary teams on baseline and impact assessments, feasibility studies, hydrologic assessments, and water quality investigations. You will manage complex scopes of work alongside hydrologists, hydrotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, structural engineers, and directly engage with clients. Strong hydrology and hydraulics expertise is essential.The Key Responsibilities For This Position IncludeLead and manage water resources projects involving hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality componentsOversee project budgets, staff allocation, and invoice preparation and reviewPrepare proposals, develop work plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage projects and tasksAuthor clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting modeling results, field investigations and analytical findingsDesign and supervise hydrological and water quality field investigationsCollaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to contribute to project successApply industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks consistentlyPerform primarily office-based work involving extended computer use and data analysisTravel to field sites as required, including occasional overnight staysYour Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively to achieve team goalsProven mentorship capabilities for junior and intermediate staffCapacity to manage multiple projects and tasks consistentlyStrong business development, client engagement, and financial management skillsEffective time management, organization, and prioritizationDisciplined approach to project execution and technical excellenceStrong problem-solving and timely decision-making abilitiesProficient in technical and non-technical communication with clients, regulators, academia, and the publicCommitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standardsSolid understanding of Ontario and federal water resources legislation, regulations, and guidanceExperience with numerical hydrodynamic, hydrologic, and hydraulic modeling tools is considered an assetDemonstrated ability to produce high-quality, organized, and consistent work.Strong initiative and independent decision-making skillsExcellent team-building and interpersonal communication abilitiesTechnical proficiency and practical problem-solving expertiseFamiliarity with local markets and practices is an assetValid G-class driver’s license requiredEducation and ExperienceGraduate degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences with a focus on water resources and hydrologyMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environmentsProfessional registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
