POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director, and working closely with the part time Program Director Family Support Office (FSO), the Manager of Programs provides strategic program management. The Manager is responsible for collaborative planning with Coordinators around program efficiency and shared opportunities, including development and evaluation, mentorship support and supervision to staff, and advocating and representing the organization with partners and collaborators in the community. Empowerment: Building community and working together to share space, opportunities, skills, and knowledge for mutual learning, self-determination and ultimate well-being Culturally Responsive: Safe spaces to maintain a home culture and adapt to new connections and diversity; and developing a deeper understanding between cultures that are always changing WHO YOU ARE: Strategic and collaborative leader Experienced manager of one to one and group programs utilizing reflective practise lens Knowledgeable about navigating complex challenges and systems for immigrants and refugees Critical thinker Assess and seek opportunities across program areas to address gaps and support increased integration of programs and funding sources where appropriate RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and manage performance of MFRS Program Coordinators including Complex Case Management Workers, community connections and other group facilitators, youth mentors, volunteers, and others Manage the development and capacity building of staff through mutual learning, modeled behaviors and effective communication so staff can work as a team to help families through complex case management Conduct effective group discussions with Coordinators and front line staff to analyze the current programs to identify gaps and opportunities for program enhancement Provide coaching, mentorship, and support for trauma-informed, culturally grounded practice Manage and guide effective case management to ensure equitable and reliable client support Maintain timely and effective communication with internal and external funder, partners, and collaborators, and record keeping of shared partnership initiatives Oversee daily group program operations to ensure smooth delivery, participant-driven practice, and alignment with culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches Develop and adapt programming built around participant needs, lived experiences, and cultural strengths In coordination and collaboration with MFRS Executive Director and other admin staff, oversee Human Resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff Oversee data collection in accordance with the program’s evaluation plan, tracking both program outputs (e.g., participant attendance, frequency of support contacts) and participant outcomes (e.g., increased social connectedness, reduced isolation, and enhanced life stability) Promote staff wellness, collaborative teamwork, and service delivery grounded in community needs and strengths Develop and implement advocacy strategies to best support the program participants Lead in person and virtual staff meetings with coordinators and/or frontline to review program flow, address issues, and ensure clear communication across all components Support with gathering data, writing reports, and grant applications Attend meetings and events as a representative of the organization QUALIFICATIONS: Behavioural competencies: Commitment to practices that supports social inclusion, equity, and anti-oppressive practices Effective intercultural communication skills and strong written and verbal skills An individual who is a learner and adaptable to changes Effective problem solver to think creatively Works with a holistic and collaborative approach and is able to see the bigger picture and be solution-based Able to work effectively within diverse contexts Able to communicate effectively in different systems, with an understanding of process Education, Experience, Skills, and other requirements: Education in Human Services, Community Development, or a related field of study Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing, supporting and evaluating community programs in the immigrant and refugee serving sector Experience in culturally responsive, relationship based practice and working in ways that align with MFRS principles Experience working with partners and collaborators to enhance programs and support for participants Strong understanding of complex case management supporting immigrants and refugees Self-motivated with excellent time management skills Skilled to foster relationships both internal and external to the organization Understands context of work in the not-for-profit/charitable sector Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check (findings are reviewed on a case by case basis) We are committed to increasing diversity in our workforce and inclusion in our organizational practices.
