They are seeking a hard-working individual to join their team in Hamilton, ON as a Construction MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Coordinator.Your Experience You Bring Will Include1-3 years of working experience as an MEP Layout Coordinator in the construction or mechanical industryCollege diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is an assetOntario Land Surveyor License is an assetRed Seal or equivalent trade certification is a plusHighly proficient in cadastral and engineering surveying methodologies (TOPCON preferred)Experienced with survey tools such as total stations, builder’s levels, robotics, and GPSStrong knowledge of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projectsProficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other relevant surveying programsExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenFamiliarity with Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulationsValid driver’s license in good standingAbility to work independently and travel between job sites as requiredYour responsibilitiesProvide construction surveying services to establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control pointsStake out lines, levels, and points to guide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installationCarry out layout work and verify as-built conditions on siteManage all aspects of layout and survey for assigned projects, including planning and reportingPerform and review survey calculations and generate detailed layout drawingsDevelop and maintain survey control plans and CAD files for each projectConduct site surveys to collect precise measurements and verify boundary conditionsReview and understand architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical drawingsIdentify coordination or interference issues with other trades and develop resolution strategiesDevelop fully dimensioned 3D drawings using CAD software, including:Piping assemblies for field routing and fabricationMechanical packages such as heat exchanger assemblies, boiler skids, and header / valve skidsSheet metal ducting layouts for design-build HVAC systemsMark and dimension HVAC roof curbs, wall openings, pitch pockets, and penetrations per structural drawingsSupport field managers and project managers in resolving site-based issuesParticipate in project meetings and provide updates on site layout statusCommunicate effectively with team members regarding survey and layout requirementsEnsure all survey equipment is well-maintained, protected, and calibrated regularlyEnsure all work complies with ISO Quality Control and company standardsAssist the Technical Services Manager with vendor coordination and design-assist projectsShare lessons learned to continuously improve processes and enhance field productivityPerform other duties as required to support the project teamRequired Skills / Experience1-3 years of experience as an MEP Layout Coordinator or in a construction survey roleCollege diploma or university degree in a related technical field (an asset)Red Seal or relevant trade certification (an asset)Proficient in survey instruments and CAD layout techniquesExcellent understanding of mechanical systems and construction coordinationDriver’s License in good standingHere’s what you can expect when you join our team45 years of economic stability, providing long-term career growth opportunities.Competitive compensation with a bonus program.Comprehensive benefits package through MERIT Ontario.Employer-matched RRSP contributions to support your financial future.Ongoing learning opportunities and development, including continuing education and skill development.A strong, family-oriented culture built on teamwork and collaboration.Commitment to health and safety, backed by an exemplary WSIB record.ISO 9001 certification, ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards in public and private sector projects.A fully insured and bonded organization, offering added security and peace of mind.As part of our commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity and accessibility, our goal is a workforce built on respect that reflects the communities we serve.
