p>Director of Manufacturing – Construction

Jay Pinniger of Lock Search Group’s Construction Team has partnered with an International Manufacturer looking to build out their leadership team in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our client is a leader in their industry with decades of success delivering quality projects on time. Reporting to the executive team, the Director of Manufacturing will be collaborating with Project managers, Engineering, Estimating & Procurement, and Onsite and Field Operations teams.

This role will oversee the company’s manufacturing facilities and field construction operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in construction management, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to foster collaboration and continually improve their teams.

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, from design planning to close out reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability metrics.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with field and production employees, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic and diverse leadership team – internal stakeholder management is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Certificate/Degree in Engineering, or equivalent qualification as a designated Professional Engineer, or Technical School graduate in a construction-related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction management role within a Commercial or Industrial organization.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks across all phases of the construction process, from project initiation to closeout.
  • Ability to efficiently manage and assist with multiple tasks.
  • Decision-making ability across various levels of complexity, ambiguity, and risk.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
