Production Support Developer

Role DescriptionGreat opportunity to join the application support team for the FNZ business It involves issue management from external and internal clients to meet KPIs and SLAs and to liaise with other areas of FNZ to ensure a robust and scalable production environment for all FNZ’s customers.Team ResponsibilitiesApplication Support – ensure that the application is maintained and working efficiently and against agreed service levelsIssue Management – analyse, investigate, and allocate for resolution and closure for all issuesChange Management – support guidance for testing and release process for production fixesProject Handover – facilitate the transition between project support and production support for all changeService Support – support the Service Managers in delivering FNZ services within KPIs, SLAs and contractual obligationsSpecific Role ResponsibilitiesInvestigation of errors in live high-end platforms.Researching and fixing defects based on description.Developing code, scripts, schemas required to solve complex technical issues.Investigating problems on databases, web and application servers.Dealing with performance issues.Communication with Production Support Analysts and Testers.Automation of manual processes within Production support (CSI).Working in a group of highly skilled support developers to resolve production issues.Performance AssessmentKPI reporting – issue management performance against KPIsAvailability – uptime during core and non-core hoursPerformance – performance metrics during core and non-core hoursReliability – test results and performance during real failure eventsExperience requiredBachelor’s degree in software engineering, or equivalentGood understanding of OOP and ability to debug code and understand log entriesExperience with C/C++ and Java programmingExperience in Relational Databases - MS SQL Database or Oracle is preferred.5 or more years production support experience - in bank or financial vendors across multiple technologies / platform is a plus.Strong communication and presentation skills with experience in conveying ideas and winning the trust of stakeholders and ClientsWillingness to learn new things is important as there is a lot to learn and master.Logical thinking, positive “can-do” attitude and reverse engineering skillsExcellent English skills, written and verbalBasic Knowledge on Core Banking processes and tools is key.Desired Skills (but not a must have)Knowledge of ITIL.Basics in JavaScript and HTML.MS technologies experience like Visual Studio and Resharper.Fluent proficiency in French (written and spoken) is a plusExperience with System administration in Linux/UnixWhat FNZ offers:A competitive base salary, bonus, and paid time off.FNZ will match pension plan contributions at 150%, up to 4% total Employee Contribution.Employer-paid medical, dental and vision insurance, and more.We are mission-led - work at the heart of a purpose-led organization where you can be proud of the impact you make, every day.
