With offices across Canada, the US and Mexico, we continue to growVancouver, BCWe are looking for an Intermediate Structural EngineerWe are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with a strong background in construction engineering in the infrastructure sector to join our team, based out of our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, execute, and manage the design of a variety of structural projects. You will work in a team environment, preparing structural engineering designs and related documents, and help lead a team of engineers, EITs, designers and project managers.A Day in the Life (Responsibilities)Lead preliminary to detailed design of infrastructure structures, including concrete foundations, concrete and steel bridges, support of excavation components, and other components such as steel frames, connections and temporary structures.Carry out estimates of project costs, complex analysis and calculations, design review, and preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation.Collaborate with the project team to develop drawings and specifications.Perform new structural designs, evaluate existing structures, and perform inspections.Interact with clients to support ongoing engineering projects and to develop new clients and new projects for Allnorth’s team.Interface directly with project managers, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations.Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets and with high-quality standards.Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues with the PMs as they arise.Offer support, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members and EITs.What You’ll Bring to the TeamBachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a specialization in structural engineering.Registered as a P.Eng. in British Columbia and eligible for registration in other provinces (Ontario preferred).6-10 years of relevant experience in construction engineering and infrastructure design, preferably within a consulting environment.Experience with finite element analysis of structures, dynamic analysis, and reasonable knowledge in seismic design.Experience working with national and provincial design codes and standards.Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and the ability to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment.Technical competence and strong attention to detail.Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities.What’s in it for you?We believe that a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results, which is why we offer a range of perks designed to support your well-being, career growth and community engagement.Flexible work schedule and location to support work-life balanceComprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage, and RRSP contribution matchingEmployee Assistance Program for team members and their familiesA culture of respect and inclusivity fosters long-term relationships and team cohesionProfessional development and growth opportunities (e.g. New and Young Worker Mentorship program)Team Member Referral ProgramA paid “Volunteer Day” to support the communityMonthly “Lunch & Learn” sessionsOpportunities to engage in social and safety committees and community initiatives (e.g. Movember, Earth Day, etc.)WE TAKE CARE OF YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS In joining us you’ll face rewarding, career-developing challenges that enable you to contribute to our clients’ successes.
