Could It Be You? The Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Secured Lending) is an experienced engineering leader skilled at managing multiple engineering squad leads. This role will oversee the design, development, and delivery of high‑performing, scalable applications for our Secured Lending portfolio, including mortgages. In this role you will guide teams through the full software development life cycle, embodying a continuous delivery mindset. This person will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects and UX teams to build and enhance our lending platforms, ideally leveraging experience with Temenos. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support multiple Engineering Squad Leads—and directly manage your own engineering squad—fostering a strong culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Play a key role (alongside other senior engineering managers) in overseeing the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle for the Secured Lending technology portfolio, ensuring your teams contribute high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable code to the overall platform. Champion and implement a continuous delivery mindset and practices to optimize for flow, speed, and quality of software delivery. Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to define the technology roadmap, break down strategic goals, and plan quarterly increments. Collaborate with solution architects to drive the technical direction for the lending platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Manage technical debt, production incidents, and operational health of the applications, ensuring reliability and performance. Recruit, onboard, and develop top engineering talent, building high‑performing, engaged teams. Be a forward‑thinking technologist who is continuously researching new approaches to problems and discussing them with others in a productive manner. Qualifications Proven experience in a software engineering leadership role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Senior Lead) managing multiple development teams or team leads. Strong foundation in software engineering principles, with a background in designing, building, and operating complex, scalable, and distributed systems. Demonstrable experience fostering a continuous delivery culture and driving DevOps best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and grow engineering talent. Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating with product, business, and other technology leaders. Degree, diploma, or equivalent directly related work experience. Additional Kudos If You… Direct experience in the secured lending or mortgage domain. Hands‑on or leadership experience with the Temenos core banking platform (or similar large‑scale financial platforms). Experience with modern tech stacks (e.g., microservices, cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure, containerization). Technical Environment Web: Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular, REST APIs using microservices in C#. Data: Google Cloud SQL, MongoDB, Redis Cache, SQL Server. Streaming: Google Pub/Sub, Kafka. Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure. Tools: Gitlab, Jira, Confluence, automated CI/CD.
