Due to growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Accountant - Real Estate to join our team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Finance of the Company, the Senior Accountant - Real Estate will be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves, experienced designated accountant not afraid to do what is necessary to get the job done right. The Senior Accountant - Real Estate must be comfortable consulting regularly with both the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager. This role requires accomplishment of multiple finance and accounting tasks. The ideal candidate for this role must have experience in Real Estate Development and Property Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Group Financial Statements and conduct detailed post-close analysis.
  • Ensure timely and quality Financial Reporting and provide precise information to the Director of Finance.
  • Provide the Director of Finance with value added input through an understanding of the various business units to drive more effective planning and decision making.
  • Prepare all journal entries required by the group and maintain all subledgers.
  • Assist Director of Finance with external audits.
  • Assist Director of Finance with creation of various Costing Models for our Development Projects.
  • Assist Director of Finance with FP&A including Financial Forecasting, Cash Flow Forecasting, etc.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented, accounting role with real estate development and property management.
  • Professional Accounting Designation, CPA or any other international equivalent (ACCA, CA, CGA, CMA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience communicating complex financial data.
  • Ability to examine, develop, re-engineer and propose recommendations regarding financial policy and procedures to improve internal control, and efficiency.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Job Costing required.
  • Advanced Excel and Modelling skills.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager is preferred.
