Cardiology Technologist

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Cardiology Technologist performs a variety of non-invasive cardiology procedures and routine maintenance of equipment. Using a personal computer and related software, performs database functions, including editing of electrocardiograms, storage and retrieval of cardiac records, and related clerical duties.QUALIFICATIONSCertified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT); andGraduate of a recognized diploma training program in Cardiology Technology; andOne (1) year recent, related experience; andEligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC); andBasic Life Support Certificate (BLSC), Level C.An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Skills And AbilitiesPrioritize and organize work.Observe and assess clients/patients.Operate related equipment, including computerized systems.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Deal with others effectively.Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.https://jd.viha.ca/JD828.pdf #J-18808-Ljbffr
