Role:To install and maintain communication distribution systems and/or other signals. These systems comprise the physical architecture that supports voice, video, and data transmission within industrial, commercial and institutional complexes.Responsibilities and Duties:Interpret and verify work orders, specifications, drawings, schematics and special requirementsPerform site inspectionsAssemble and set up all tools, materials and equipmentInstall cable supportsInstall, fish, dress, cross connect and terminate Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP), co-axial and fibre optic cableInstall WiFi (802.11b/g and n) networksTest, review and troubleshoot installed systemsLiaise with customers, store managers, and employees to explain, coordinate and schedule network cable installations.Provide work log and reportsOccupational Requirements:Familiarity with retail environment and POS systems is an assetFamiliarity with network equipment (routers, switches, desktops, printers, etc…) is an assetAbility to travel to customers’ sites on short notice over extended periods of time (possibly across Canada)Must possess a valid and unexpired Class 5 driver’s licence, and the ability to produce a clean driver’s abstract upon hire and periodically throughout employmentMust have own vehicle and be able to drive to and from jobs independentlyAbility to work revolving day/night shiftsMust have knowledge of basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook is an assetExperience with scissor lifts (will train/certify as required)Work Location: On the roadApplication" * " indicates required fieldsFull Name *AddressPhone Number *Email *Attach Resume * Drop files here or Max. file size: 50 MB.What our staff sayI started my second career with BFG after my kids were full grown and independent.They have seen my potential and encouraged me to develop it by trusting me with increasing responsibility and letting me take on and own tasks and manage a team.BFG has provided me with growth and advancement and offers you a friendly work environment with supportive and approachable management.
