Early Childhood Educators

CISND is recruiting for enthusiastic and dedicated Certified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team. Our daycare and out of school care programs operate through the year in bright, clean and well-maintained spaces. This includes full access to the school facilities, 2 gyms, libraries and outside playgrounds, catering to ages 5 – 11. Our program staff encourage and facilitate children’s participation in planned activities, providing guidance and instruction while monitoring individual and group behaviour to ensure a safe, nurturing, creative environment.

Our successful candidate will:

  • enjoy fostering children’s sense of well-being, promoting feelings of belonging and inclusiveness.
  • be flexible to the changing needs of the children and programs.
  • work in a team environment, collaboratively with children and families, colleagues and administration.
  • have problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • maintain a neat, orderly and clean environment, including all activity areas.
  • have the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Commitment to Catholic education
  • Training specific to the role (ECE/ECEA/Responsible Adult preferred) with proven experience
  • Flexible schedule Monday to Friday
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters

  • CISND pastoral reference form

Catholic applicants must provide:

  • Certificate of Baptism or RCIA certificate;
  • Certificate of Catholic marriage, if applicable

As a condition of employment, successful candidates will be required to provide or complete a valid criminal record check and complete diocesan Safe Environnment training and submit documentation to indicate they are legally entitled to work in Canada (photocopy of Canadian birth certificate or Canadian passport).
