This role operates in a confidential capacity as it relates to advising and assisting in the setting of fundraising priorities that will impact the strategic direction of the college.
Managing a comprehensive annual giving portfolio and oversee leadership giving initiatives for gifts up to $25,000, including scholarships, bursaries, and faculty awards. Developing and implementing strategies to build lasting relationships within diverse communities, inspiring giving and achieving revenue targets. Planning and executing major initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and National Philanthropy Day to enhance community engagement and fundraising success. Identifying, recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers (both internal and external to Sheridan) to support fundraising campaigns. Monitoring and analyzing giving trends to inform and refine fundraising strategies. Providing senior consultation in the development of strategic direction for the department and the design of policies and procedures to support those fundraising efforts. Representing Sheridan at various internal and external functions to network, engage potential prospects, and elevate the College’s profile in the community. Supporting the VP, Advancement and Director, Alumni and Annual Giving, in the administrative management and sound business practice of Advancement. Undertaking additional projects and initiatives as required, contributing to the overall success of the Advancement team.Your excellent organization, planning and time management skills combined with strong attention to detail allows you to establish an internal system for meeting deadlines, tracking, follow-up, monitoring, and reporting of progress.
You bring an understanding of moves management bringing professional rigor to donor cultivation, building deep pipelines and demonstrating success through metrics.
You have the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion.
- 2-year diploma or degree in public administration, fundraising, non-profit management, business, marketing or related field of study
- 5-years experience with a demonstrated track record of closing annual gifts and carrying a portfolio of 50+ prospects (equivalency will be considered)
- Raisers Edge experience is an asset
- Proficient in analytics and conducting own research, prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; someone who is able to ask the right questions, gather and analyze the right data
- Excellent oral and written skills with a demonstrated ability to write effectively and persuasively and present to diverse groups
- Knowledge of computer software applications including word processing, power point, database management, and spreadsheets
