Engineering Manager

to join the new Toronto division of a leading online gaming company Our client builds a new kind of online gaming platform that focuses on iGaming, social gaming and sports betting.
As an Engineering Manager, you will build, grow and lead an agile engineering team for our clients Canadian HQ. Your role will have three pillars: Team Leadership, Process and Delivery. You’re a leader that has delivered code, optimized processes and raised the bar. You should have a deep understanding of agile practices, perhaps even agile certified or held a scrum master role. You’re process oriented, know how to setup and manage projects and lead the team to be self-organized.
You will manage the daily activities and priorities of the team while balancing new challenges as the company grows and enters new markets. You will manage long- and short-term goals and ensure the smooth operation of the team while collaborating closely with the other teams. We are in the search for highly driven leaders who strive for excellence and aspire to further their career and skills
What you will be doing- Hire, onboard and train new staff
- Prioritize and manage teams’ goals and daily work aligned with the company’s goals
- Establish short-term goals and sprint execution as well as long-term planning
- Collaborate with the product owner to assure that business objectives are met on time and communicate risks to project stakeholders
- Track and support the team’s personal and professional growth
- Set clear common goals with the team
- Work closely with the operations and the other engineering teams
- Previous experience in a leadership role managing agile software product engineers
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- A strong passion for learning and technology
- Problem-solver with keen attention to details
- Collaborative and eager to lead through mentorship and technical distribution
- Background in Agile and SDLC methodologies
- Highly motivated leader with the aim of growing with the team and organization
- Excellent communication skills with critical thinking and autonomy
- Experience using metrics (OKRs) to monitor the effects of organizational change plans
- Remote working (permanent)
- Salary: CAD 150K – 170K base + 10% bonus
