Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Edmonton is looking for an Highway and Roadway Design Engineer to add to its growing team.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead design tasks of municipal roadway, provincial highway, and active transportation facilities projects for the City of Edmonton, Alberta Transportation as well as other local municipalities;Preparation and review of geometric designs, design drawings, contract documents, engineering specifications and cost estimates for municipal road and highway engineering work;Assist with business development activities and conduct/attend client meetingsPrepare correspondence, engineering reports, proposals, specifications and meeting minutes;Ability to collaborate with a team of professionals, as well as liaise with clients and sub-consultantsThe preparation/review of designs using computer design tools (e.g. CAD, transportation software);Performs a wide-range of additional duties intended to support your growth and development within a transportation engineering environment;Provide Quality Management reviews by ensuring corporate policies are followed and documented.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + minimum 4 years experience in transportation design of roads and highwaysP. Eng. Designation in Alberta, or eligibleDriver’s licensePreferred Qualifications7+ years of experience in the transportation design engineering field is preferredKnowledge of applicable design standards including those published by TAC, Alberta Transportation, and City of Edmonton;Experience with roadway geometric design software such as InRoads/OpenRoads MicroStation and/or Civil 3D/Autocad, Torus, Guidesign, and Autoturn;Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, documentation and proposal writing skills;Experience with City of Edmonton and/or Alberta Transportation will be considered an asset;Knowledge of City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation Standards for Tender Documents for Unit Price ContractsExperience in construction contract administration will be considered an assetAbility to work in both the in-person and virtual environmentAdditional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
