Junior Mechanical Engineer (New Grad) Location: Thunder Bay, ON Overview Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Mechanical Engineer (New Grad) to our Mechanical team based in Thunder Bay, ON. Your Role Interface with project team members to complete assigned tasks. Undertake calculations, analysis and simulations from basic or first principles following established design practices as directed by senior engineers. Prepare basic design and/or engineering reports when requested. Assist in management of drawing and document lists, distribution matrices, squad check coordination and records management. Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards. Prepare and manage material take‑offs and requisition packages. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. Work in a safe manner at all times and report health and safety incidents and concerns. Additional duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 0–3 years of experience; new graduates welcome. Some experience or knowledge in mining or municipal sectors is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members and engineering disciplines. Self‑starter and highly motivated with career growth aspirations. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Sound judgment and initiative. Experience using 3D AutoCAD or equivalent is an asset. Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
