OverviewJob Title: Storm Water Management Systems EngineerLocation: Toronto, CanadaRamboll is seeking a talented and motivated Storm Water Management Systems Engineer to join our team in Canada. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of stormwater management systems to address flood control, water quality, and sustainable drainage solutions delivered to private and public sector clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and environmental engineering, along with experience in stormwater management projects.This is a leadership position to support the growth and development of the Water Infrastructure practice in Canada which is a part of the Ramboll Water Global Business Area. As a leader in our growing water infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative, sustainable solutions while mentoring others and collaborating across disciplines. Your work will help build resilient communities through thoughtful water infrastructure design, analysis, and planning. Responsibilities Lead the development and growth of the Water Infrastructure practice through applied business development (BD) and client engagement. Specific BD targets will be discussed and agreed to to support this growth objective. Design and develop stormwater management systems including stormwater detention, retention, conveyance, treatment, and infiltration systems with a focus on resiliency and sustainability. Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using industry-standard modelling tools to assess stormwater runoff, flooding risks, and drainage solutions. Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports for stormwater infrastructure projects to meet regulatory requirements and client needs. Conduct site visits and assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact evaluations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, planners, and environmental scientists. Guide projects through regulatory permitting processes, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and standards. Support construction and implementation phases of projects. Utilize advanced software and digital tools to drive efficient and high-quality stormwater system design and analysis. Communicate and build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Participate in community engagement activities to promote sustainable stormwater management practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in a Canadian jurisdiction (preferably Ontario) or eligibility to obtain it within 1 year. 5 to 10+ years of experience in stormwater management, drainage design, or related field. Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE URBAN). Strong understanding of stormwater regulations, guidelines, and best practices in Canadian jurisdictions. Experience with the permitting and regulatory compliance requirements of provincial regulatory bodies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience with conducting field sampling and site visits. Ability to work legally in Canada Ability to obtain working visas or permits and travel to the Unites States occasionally. Valid driver’s license required Ability to travel across Canada – approx. 20-30%. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
