We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer for a 12-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta, with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This is a 100% remote role.

Job Description
The Senior Integration Engineer will bring their expertise in Ellucian Banner to support and enhance enterprise systems, ensuring efficient integration of technologies across departments. You will play a critical role in maintaining the organization's operational efficiency, modernizing its technology stack, and improving overall user experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, significant experience in integration development, and the ability to design and implement complex solutions.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Lead meetings with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for use throughout the software development lifecycle.
  2. Identify appropriate technologies and propose cost-effective solutions that align with the organization’s product and architectural goals.
  3. Provide guidance and coordination with resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  4. Prepare clear technical documentation that describes project requirements and specifications.
  5. Collaborate with a dynamic team to design, build, and test processes based on detailed specifications.
  6. Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for integration projects and proposals.
  7. Analyze and deconstruct complex technical issues to identify root causes and troubleshoot application and integration challenges effectively.
  8. Stay current with the organization’s applications and technologies.
  9. Continuously learn and adopt new technologies to improve practices and processes.

Qualifications
  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner or a similar ERP system is required.
  3. At least 6-8+ years of experience with application development frameworks (e.g., NodeJS, React.js).
  4. At least 6-8+ years of experience with web service development and integration patterns, including REST, SOAP, JMS messaging, and Request/Reply or Publish/Subscriber models.
  5. At least 5+ years of experience in complex integration architecture and design, with working knowledge of at least one ESB platform (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle SOA/OSB, IBM WebSphere ESB, Microsoft BizTalk).
  6. Strong understanding of SOA architecture and hands-on experience with API web service development (REST and SOAP).
  7. Proficiency with XML-related technologies (XML, XSD).
  8. Knowledge and experience with HTTP, REST, SOAP, JSON, and databases (SQL).
  9. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GIT, SVN).
  10. Experience with CI/CD processes and tools.
  11. Experience with team collaboration platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  12. Proven ability to lead complex projects and communicate effectively.
  13. Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, DocumentDB, ECS, and Terraform.
