Shell Recharge Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer

Shell Recharge Solutions is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is obsessed with technology that wants to be a part of a "world class" DevOps team. Shell Recharge Solutions DevOps engineers must possess an "automation first" mindset, with a relentless focus on documentation, quality, scalability, and reliability using Infrastructure as Code tools. Shell Recharge Solutions DevOps engineers enjoy being on the bleeding edge of technology, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and follow industry trends. They champion modern best practices and remain technology leaders within the company.

This position will be part of a great team that is developing exciting products and solutions and playing a key part in driving forward the electrification of transportation.

What you'll do:

  1. Manage and oversee software and database deployments and design and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  2. Be responsible for AWS infrastructure and numerous AWS services.
  3. Responsible for tuning the health of our environment and maintaining comprehensive documentation of our infrastructure and tools.
  4. Refactor production infrastructure while making accurate decisions for future capacity, scaling, and expansion.
  5. Participate in ground-up infrastructure design and planning for future products and services.
  6. Participate in a secondary on-call rotation for incidents.
  7. Create and maintain policies, standards, and overall system documentation.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of recent experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  2. 4+ years of recent experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP.
  3. 3+ years of experience operating Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Podman, or related containerization/orchestration technologies in a production environment.
  4. 4+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
  5. 4+ years of experience with IAC tools such as Terraform (preferred), Cloud Formation.
  6. 4+ years of experience with CM tools such as Ansible (preferred), Salt, Chef, Puppet.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
  2. Hashicorp Vault administration or usage.
  3. Experience with Teamcity, Artifactory, and Octopus.
  4. Understand networks, protocols, servers, storage systems, and Linux.
  5. Can self-assess the needs of a system or team and make a case to prioritize that work.
  6. Comfortable digging through metrics, logs, to triage and fix a problem.
  7. You should be an excellent communicator that is easy to work with, comfortable articulating concepts to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions.
