We are hiring a Director of Manufacturing to help continue to build our high-performing operations and join us in our mission to create healthy spaces for people to live, work, and play in a sustainable way. This role will utilize continuous improvement methodology to increase opportunities for cost savings, product quality, and safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning and Execution:

  1. Oversee and manage the operational activities in the plant to achieve efficient and effective execution and delivery of results.
  2. Coordinate production operations across assembly, manufacturing, and warehouse/shipping and receiving teams.
  3. Direct unit supervisors in establishing and maintaining production schedules within established procedures and budgets.
  4. Plan for operational expansion and scale-up into new and larger facilities.

Leadership And People Management:

  1. Provide leadership and support to direct reports including setting individual objectives, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback.
  2. Manage and coach a team of professionals through sincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed.
  3. Facilitate team cooperation and ensure team leads and supervisors can realize the set objectives and goals.
  4. Build a culture of safety and continuous improvement to help create a safe and positive work environment for all employees.
  5. Recruit or assist in the recruitment of new employees.

Reporting:

  1. Develop and monitor the relevant KPIs to maintain the performance of the assigned area against the set targets and make recommendations for improvement.
  2. Monitor established performance indicators, including variance reports, production reports, quality reports, and injury reports.

Quality / Health And Safety Compliance:

  1. Ensure regulatory compliance with safety rules and regulations to eliminate incidents and injuries.
  2. Identify and implement improvements to the Oxygen8 systems, processes, and practices to improve & optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes.
Experience And Skills
  1. Degree in Engineering, Business, or Operations.
  2. 10+ years experience managing and leading teams in a manufacturing setting (experience at the Director level is preferred).
  3. An understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  4. Experience with 5S, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  5. A deep-rooted knowledge of supply chain and planning of both production and materials.
  6. Experience in reporting and analytics on key production metrics.
  7. Strong Leadership skills with experience in coaching and mentoring managers.
  8. Outstanding communication ability, including negotiation skills and assertiveness.
  9. Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and execute.
  10. Solid computer skills (Excel, ERP experience an advantage).

Annual Salary

$130,000 to $150,000 based on experience.

Location:

Vancouver office (1575 Vernon Drive, Vancouver, BC).
