Opportunity Location: Cardston Health Centre, a regional acute care facility about 40 minutes from Waterton. This Medical Radiation Tech I (MRT I) position performs quality general radiology and portable examinations in a busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department. The role requires close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management. Description Perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for disease and pathology diagnosis. Interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination, and produce high quality diagnostic images for physician/radiologist review. Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Carry out general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, and fluoroscopy where required. Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Part-time Job Function Health Care Provider Industries Hospitals and Health Care Required Qualifications Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications MRT/CLXT with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and physicians. Preferred Qualifications Connect Care and PACS proficiency an asset. Volunteering for AHS DI Provincial Committees, Superuser training or additional responsibilities in the department an asset. AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred. Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program/Peervue.
