Join to apply for the HCA Instructor (Clinical) role at Discovery Community College in Nanaimo, BC About the Role Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced HCA Instructor to teach Clinical (Clinical Site in Nanaimo Region). This part‑time role offers 40 hours per week and a potential pathway to future instructional opportunities. Start date: Monday December 15, 2025End date: Friday February 20, 2026Rate Range: $33.00–$35.00 per hourSchedule: Monday to Friday, 6:15 am to 2:45 pm Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality instruction in clinical settings. Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum that aligns with PTIRU compliance (extensive in‑house curriculum orientation and training provided). Provide hands‑on training and supervision in clinical environments. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback. Maintain a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Stay current with best practices and developments in nursing education. Qualifications Minimum 28,000 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity, mental health or acute care. Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required. Previous instructor experience is an asset. Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset. Strong communication and mentorship skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles. Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience. Ability to travel to local sites within the region. Required Experience Experience in a Long‑term Care facility in Canada within the last two years, or relevant experience.
