Client Engineering (Mobile & Web) is looking for a Solutions Architect who will be a key player in architecting the future technology road map for our native Android and iOS applications that deliver secure, personalized, and high-performing experiences to millions of users. This candidate will work closely with Product partners, business and other Scotia technology teams to provide mobile-first solution design and ensure seamless integration with backend systems and cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in mobile development, cloud-native systems, security, and modern engineering practices. Responsibilities Architect end-to-end solutions across Android and iOS applications, integrated with backend and cloud systems. Design architectural solutions and roadmaps aligned to business and technology strategy, enterprise standards and best practices. Collaborate with multiple teams Bank-wide on architecture design and follow Bank’s Architecture Review Board governance processes. Present solution design to establish trust, persuade stakeholders, and achieve understanding and consensus at all levels. Maintain a sharp focus on security and reliability while developing architecture designs for products and services. Participate in cross-functional solutioning discussions and drive architectural decisions effectively. Develop and maintain technology target state and roadmap for application portfolios in collaboration with Business Leads, Chief Architect and Application Portfolio Owners. Champion mobile development best practices, performance, and platform-specific capabilities. Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the Client Engineering team. Qualifications 8+ years of IT experience with progression through roles including at least 3 years in hands-on architectural design for software applications with a track record of building a product and taking it to market. Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. Experience in Financial Services domain is highly desirable. Proven track record in architecting solutions for Android/iOS mobile applications including cloud and microservices integration. Experience designing/developing cloud-native solutions in GCP, Azure, AWS. Experience in architecting end-to-end solutions across multiple technology platforms and leveraging established architecture/design frameworks. Experience in Security Architecture (authentication, authorization, auditing). Strong understanding of security protocols, OAuth2, and data protection. Hands-on experience leading Proof of Concept / Proof of Technology initiatives. Experience in Agile, DevOps and iterative software development. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships with business partners, stakeholders, technology partners and vendors. Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and adapt to a dynamic environment. What’s in it for you?
