Programmer Analyst

OverviewWe are looking for a Programmer Analyst to join our team in Fredericton or Woodstock, New Brunswick. Working closely with our business systems analysts, QA and IT Operations teams, the Programmer Analyst role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications/solutions in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle, focusing on turning complex requirements into easy to use processes via automation.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Development Leads, IT Leads and the Business Systems Analysts to review and provide feedback on solution design & technical specification documentsAbility to create software solutions using the tools availableProvide estimates of development effort for projects and tasksProvide status updates to the Development Leads and the Business Systems Analysts as requiredAssist Programmer Analysts and external developers to work through their challenges as requiredSupport the Business Systems Analysts team through functional and user acceptance testing of projectsProvide change requests for deployment of database and application updatesWork with the IT team to solve incidents and provide root cause analysisAssist in maintaining Test / QA / Staging environmentsAssist in monitoring applications to verify proper functionality after updates have been deployedCreate reports to assist the IT team and business unitsKnowledge of telecommunications sectorKnowledge of client / server applicationsPositive attitude, willingness to apply hands on approachExperience working as part of an operational teamIdeal Candidate / QualificationsProven experience in writing applications/scripts/SQL commands against relational databasesProven skills in writing and coding in various languages for both web and transactional systemsProven database experience in the areas of data structures and modelingProven experience integrating on premise and cloud systems3+ years’ experience building and implementing custom solutions on the Salesforce (or similar CRM) platform3+ years’ experience building and consuming web services using SOAP or RESTExperience with Microsoft .NET / C#Experience using source control systems such as SVN or GITExperience with responsive designExperience with software development collaboration tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Server, Slack)Proven experience developing a full stack solutionExcellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as requiredUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementing, Testing, Maintenance)Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)Understanding of computer programming languages and development environments, database systems, and cloud-based systemsUnderstanding of distributed systems and Service Oriented ArchitectureConscious of security concerns when designing systemsAs a condition of employment and in order to comply with industry related data security standards, this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
