OverviewJoin to apply for the intermediate Structural Engineer role at WSP in Canada. The opportunity is based in our Ottawa office within the Buildings group.Our Structural team works on a variety of building types, from traditional commercial and industrial buildings to specialty buildings in Rail and Transportation, collaborating with engineers and project managers to deliver projects. What you can expect to do hereDesign of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildingsPrepare structural integrity and building condition assessment reportsDesign and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling for steel, concrete, masonry and timber structuresManage and coordinate projects with clients and other disciplinesCollaborate with senior engineers and drafting personnel to assemble structural drawingsRespond to client requests for proposalsPerform site reviews and construction administration during the construction phaseCoordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawingsPlanning and management of projects What you’ll bring to WSPBachelor's degree in Structural EngineeringPost-graduation degree will be considered an assetRegistered Professional Engineer with the PEOExcellent knowledge of structural theory, the National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code and Canadian design standards (concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry)Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, S-FRAME, and SAFE5-10 years of experience in structural design of buildingsDemonstrated project management experienceExperience in design of new and renovation projects across institutional, commercial, residential, transportation, healthcare and light industrial projectsSeismic analysis and design experience is an assetGeneral working knowledge of other building disciplinesAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skills About UsWSP is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
