Senior Business Solution Expert (Murex Platform) Scotiabank is seeking a Senior Business Solution Expert (Murex Platform) to join the Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) team. The role focuses on designing and delivering end‑to‑end solutions using the Murex platform, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams to support complex trading, risk, and post‑trade processes. Team Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast‑moving, award‑winning technology engine powering Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking and Capital Markets businesses. Role Overview The successful candidate will act as an architect for Murex‑based solutions, overseeing solution design, stakeholder engagement, technical leadership, project delivery, process optimization, compliance, documentation, and ongoing innovation. Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of Murex‑based solutions for trading, risk management, treasury, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements and define solution architectures. Provide architectural guidance for Murex configuration, integration, and custom development. Oversee the delivery lifecycle, from scoping to deployment, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. Identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvement within the Murex environment. Ensure solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements. Develop detailed solution documentation and deliver training to end‑users and support teams. Stay abreast of Murex product evolutions and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in Murex solution architecture, implementation, or support within a financial institution. Strong knowledge of capital markets products (FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives) and trade lifecycle processes. Proven experience in solution design, business analysis, and project management. Expertise in Murex modules (Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Reporting) and integration with external systems. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Analytical mindset focused on problem solving and process improvement. Familiarity with Canadian regulatory requirements and financial industry standards is an asset.
